## What Is Loft Leg?
Loft Leg is a raised support, or loft stilt, fixed to suitable loft timbers to lift the boarding above the insulation. Instead of squashing the quilt beneath a storage floor, it keeps the boards separate so the insulation can retain its intended depth and help keep heat in the rooms below.

In our loft boarding and insulation work, we choose between the original 175mm Loft Leg and the 300mm Loft Leg XL to suit the insulation depth, supporting timber and available headroom. We retain suitable airflow beneath and around the deck, rather than laying boards directly onto the insulation.

The result is practical domestic storage above your insulation. Raised boarding does not strengthen the existing joists or trusses or turn the loft into a living space, so the structure and proposed storage use must be suitable.
